    About

Returns data for FDIC-insured banks and savings institutions: institution profiles, branch and office locations, financial reports, structure-change history, failures, Summary of Deposits, and demographic context. Query each dataset with Elastic-style filter expressions, free-text search, explicit field selection, sort order, and limit/offset pagination. Responses are JSON by default or CSV, and each result includes a total count for client-side paging.

    Overview

Programmatic access to FDIC-insured banks and savings institutions — profiles, locations, financials, structure history, failures, deposits, and demographics — across seven datasets.

    Datasets

    • Institutions — search the institution roster by attributes, status, and identifiers.
    • Locations — branch and office locations, including service type and coordinates.
    • Financials — reported financial items and ratios by reporting period.
    • History — structure-change events such as mergers, name changes, and closings.
    • Failures — failed institutions with failure dates and resolution details.
    • Summary of Deposits — branch-level deposit totals for market-share analysis.
    • Demographics — geographic and demographic context such as CBSA, metro status, and office counts.

    Query model

Filter with Elastic query string syntax — phrase matches, AND/OR, negation, and numeric or date ranges (dates as yyyy-mm-dd). Select specific fields, sort ascending or descending, and page through results with limit and offset. Each response carries a total record count to support client-side paging.

    Typical uses

    • Pull every branch in a city or state for a given institution.
    • Retrieve quarterly financials for a set of banks.
    • Track an institution's merger and structure history.
    • Compile deposit market share or demographic profiles by region.
